Lorraine

Oil on canvas 70cm x 70cm 2011

I have been working on a series of portrait paintings to see if I can capture the essence of the sitter. This is a portrait of Lorraine in her usual pensive pose.

Faces of Ghana - Octagenarian Mrs B.

Oil on Canvas 80cm x 80cm 2011
This is a portrait of my friend Mrs Elizabeth Osei Bonsu who celebrated her 80th birthday on March 7th. It's also a tribute to Gustav Klimt. I tried his goldleaf approach and nearly went overboard.

This scene is taken from one of the coastal village in Ghana and shows women hanging around the beach waiting for the fishermen to return with their catch. The early bird catches the worm they say.
